Aleksandër Krrashi, the driver of the concrete mixer that collided with the vehicle carrying the four young people who tragically lost their lives, began his testimony at the Tirana Court with words of comfort for the families of the victims.

"The 24-year-old claimed before the Tirana Court that he did not immediately leave the scene of the incident, but initially attempted to open the door of the Benz vehicle where the 4 young people were traveling. According to him, the vehicle door was impossible to open, and for this reason he sought the help of another person, who again were unable to save the four young people. In these conditions, the 24-year-old claimed, he left the scene of the incident, for fear of possible revenge."

But despite his statement, Judge Edvan Vecani ordered the security measure of arrest in prison, thus accepting the request of the prosecution that is investigating the 24-year-old for three criminal offenses, violation of road traffic rules, driving a vehicle in an irregular manner and leaving the scene of an accident. It turned out that Krrashi was not equipped with a driving license for heavy transport vehicles.

The accident that claimed the lives of 4 young men, two brothers Enejdi and Erild Laçi, their cousin Andi Laçi, and their friend Enrikejd Kurti, occurred at midnight on Wednesday on the Vorë-Fushë-Krujë axis. They were returning from the "Mother Teresa" airport in Rinas after having received one of the victims from Germany. The vehicle they were traveling in was moving at a speed exceeding the permitted speed limits and collided with a concrete mixer that had been stopped on the road, but without turning on the traffic light. According to the dynamics reconstructed by the police, before colliding with the concrete mixer, the young men had overtaken two trucks on the road.
