Korça Police have successfully finalized the police operation codenamed "Cazino", discovering and cracking down on several cases of illegal gambling. As part of this operation, 10 people were arrested, including 3 local owners and 7 customers who were caught playing illegal games of chance, writes A2 CNN.
During massive searches in several venues, police seized 9 computer monitors, 13 mobile phones, tablets and an amount of money that was suspected of being used for betting.
The arrested Klajdi Leka, 21 years old, Gjergji Panolli, 36 years old, Alfred Male, 57 years old, residents of Korça and Mborje, are accused of the criminal offenses "Organizing illegal lotteries" and "Making premises available for illegal games".
While Leonard Muçollari, Elton Ryka, Elton Sovjani, Ermir Kanollari, Mateas Kanollari, Rudenc Muçollari and Agron Tushini are accused of the criminal offense of "Organizing illegal lotteries", all residents of Korça.
The operation was conducted by Economic and Financial Crime Specialists in cooperation with the Korça Police Commissariat and the "Eagle" Special Force. The procedural materials have been referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the Korça Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction for further investigations. (A2 Televizion)
