The appeal rejects the request for replacement of the measure of "prison arrest" for the minor MP, accused of the stabbing murder of 14-year-old Martin Cani, writes A2 CNN.

On November 18, 2024, near the "Fan Noli" school in Tirana, Martin Cani lost his life after allegedly being stabbed by Mario Përlleshaj, while his friend, Luis Meçja, was injured.

The argument allegedly started on social media, then escalated in and around the school premises.

After the incident, the State Police stated that there was no second perpetrator involved in the incident, emphasizing that the suspected perpetrator had acted alone. The knife used in the crime was found along with the school bag near the Albanian Telegraphic Agency.

The incident caused strong reactions in public opinion, with protests being organized in front of the Ministry of Education, where citizens demanded more security in schools and the resignation of the Minister of Education. Two months after the incident, the victim's family members organized another protest, demanding justice and transparency in the investigations.

Following this incident, Prime Minister Edi Rama toured schools across the country, meeting with parents and teachers, and at the end of the tour, he announced that the government had decided to close the TikTok app in Albania. The decision has not yet been implemented. (A2 Televizion)
