The escape of Daut Laze from Shenkoll prison the day before has cost the 3 officers who were on duty at that moment dearly.
According to the latest data, Shënkoll prison guards Gjin Ndoka, Tonin Nikolli and Zhaneta Mella have been arrested for abuse of office in this case.
49-year-old Daut Laze from Çorovoda, but residing in Tirana, was hospitalized in the treatment room and in the early hours of this Tuesday morning escaped from there by climbing over the wall. His absence from the room was noticed during the construction of the shifts and the execution of the appeal.
He was arrested on November 16, 2021 for domestic violence, based on a complaint that his mother says did not come from them. On November 4 of last year, the Tirana Court decided to sentence him to “Compulsory treatment in a hospital institution.” He was serving this sentence in Shenkoll prison, where all prisoners with mental health problems were moved after the closure of Zaharia prison.
Police call Daut Lazen a high-risk person and appealed to citizens to notify law enforcement of any information they may have about his whereabouts. The reward in return will be 10,000 euros. (A2 Televizion)
