This Tuesday, the body of 24-year-old Palestinian Rayan Alwan, who was stabbed to death two months ago in Tirana by her father, 49-year-old Fati Alwan, was removed from the morgue.
A2 CNN learns that the young woman's body was retrieved by her family's lawyer, sent to our country by the 24-year-old's mother, and then sent to Lebanon.
The Palestinian girl was found murdered in a rented apartment in the capital in February of this year.
Initially, it was suspected that the perpetrator was her cohabitant, 25 years older than her. But then, after information that the Albanian police provided from their counterparts, it turned out that the 24-year-old was killed by her father, who is now an international wanted man.
The motives for this macabre crime continue to remain a mystery to the investigative group. Meanwhile, Albanian authorities, a few days after the incident, asked their counterparts in Germany to ask the family to withdraw the young woman's body from the morgue, but according to them, no one had shown any interest in this matter.
Fati and Rayyan Alwan arrived in Albania on February 19th and in Rinas the 49-year-old introduced himself as having come to Tirana as a tourist with his partner.
The tickets to come to our country were booked a few hours before the trip and as soon as they set foot on Albanian soil, they headed to the apartment they had rented on “Gjon Muzaka” Street. The first night they slept on the first floor of the 3-story apartment, and then, claiming that they did not like the room, on the 20th they stayed on the third floor of the villa, where the macabre crime also occurred.
Investigators suspect that the murder may have occurred on February 20 or 21, as security cameras show that the girl did not leave the apartment at any time during these two days, while on February 22, at 5 a.m., the 49-year-old left for Rinas, traveling towards Greece.
The whole incident was revealed on February 27. The mystery of the murder of the 24-year-old Palestinian woman was also reported by Dutch media, according to which the young woman had denounced her father for violence, as the latter did not accept that his daughter lived a free life and according to the customs of the Islamic religion.
