The Special Court confirmed the security measure of arrest in prison for Safet Bajri, considered one of the strongmen of Shkodra. This Monday, he appeared before the court together with his cousin Behar Bajri and Astmer Bilali, against whom the same security measure was imposed.
They are accused of the murder of Fatbardh Lici in 2018 in the Kiras neighborhood of Shkodra. Behar Bajri and Astmer Bilali were in prison, having been arrested earlier as part of Operation Metamorphosis.
At the end of the hearing, Sokol Tahiraj, Safet Bajri's defense lawyer, said that the prosecution has no evidence to incriminate his client.
Safet Bajri was arrested on Friday and brought to Tirana under strict security measures, where he appeared smiling as he entered the Tirana Police Department. Officially, SPAK announced that Safet Bajri, in collaboration with Behar Bajri (Brajovic) and Astmer Bilali, planned, organized and shot Fatbardh Liçi, a relative of Ibrahim Liçi, an event that occurred on August 10, 2018 in Shkodra.
According to SPAK, the motive for the murder is suspected, among other things, of being revenge for the murder of Boran Bërçana, who was killed on July 15, 2018, along with his partner, Silvi Ndoci, a month before Fatbardh Lici was killed.
