A summer bar on the Darëzeza coast in Fier was engulfed in flames at around 17:30 today. The fire was initially spotted by residents of the area, who immediately notified the fire services, which were able to extinguish the flames, writes A2 CNN. However, since the bar is built of wood, it was completely burned within a few minutes, despite the intervention of emergency vehicles by residents of the area.
The bar, owned by citizen AB, had been operating for 5 years during the summer months, while the estimated damage amounts to 3 million lek. All the equipment inside the premises, 120 sun loungers and 60 umbrellas, were burned.
It is initially suspected that the fire was accidental, as, according to residents near the bar, there were visitors who had consumed beer and cigarettes. The bar, which has been closed since the end of the season, had a power outage. Verification by the investigation team is expected to enable the investigation of this incident. (A2 Televizion)
