The General Prosecutor's Office announces that a total of 44 criminal reports have been registered for offenses related to the electoral process, including vote buying, violating the secrecy of voting, and obstructing voters.
According to the announcement, the sources of the reports are different: in 19 cases they were made by the judicial police, in 9 cases by SPAK, in 6 cases by political entities, 8 were initiated primarily and 2 by citizens, writes A2.
Some of the key figures include:
-Fieri with 5 reports and the same number of criminal proceedings registered.
-Dibra with 9 reports, but only one open proceeding so far.
-Tirana with 7 reports, while investigations into them are in the verification process.
Out of the 44 reports, 20 criminal proceedings have been registered and are being investigated in some of the largest prosecutors' offices in the country:
-Fier: 5 proceedings (for acts such as violating free elections and using property to buy votes)
-Elbasan: 4 proceedings (including other charges such as failure to comply with lawful orders and concealment of items)
Saranda, Gjirokastër, Shkodër, Kukës, Korçë, Vlorë, Durrës, Dibër: with 1-2 proceedings each, mainly for "use of public office for campaigning" and "electoral corruption".
A report from the Durrës Prosecution Office and a criminal proceeding from the Fier Prosecution Office have been sent to SPAK for jurisdiction, while the rest of the files are still in the verification phase.
