Six Albanian citizens have been arrested after being accused of a series of robberies of luxury items and jewelry in France and Belgium. The group has carried out more than 49 thefts in the residences of famous and wealthy figures, from the world of art, sports, etc.
The criminal group was named "Nikla" by French authorities. It was led by an Albanian criminal who had escaped from Treviso prison in Italy in 2022 and was wanted by Interpol.
Edison Pula, along with another robber, was arrested on January 20 in Luxembourg, while the other five were caught on March 4 near Reims. The 30-year-old, born in Krujë, was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the criminal offenses of “premeditated murder”, “destruction of property with explosives”, “robbery”, “unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, “theft” and “removal of a prisoner from the place of residence”.
He was identified thanks to his genetic profile, discovered at more than 30 different robbery scenes.
According to authorities, the value of the stolen items by the Pula gang exceeds one million euros. During the operation, police seized over 650,000 euros in stolen items, including jewelry, expensive watches, luxury handbags, cash and vehicles.
Investigations revealed that the main victims were businessmen from the Reims area and famous footballers. This operation was led by the Central Office Against Organized Crime and the Paris Judicial Police. (A2 Televizion)
