A 22-year-old Turkish man has been arrested at the Morina border crossing, after being sentenced by Turkish judicial authorities to 4 years and 2 months in prison for illegal possession of weapons.
"As a result of intensive controls at the Morina Border Crossing Point, to crack down on illegalities and stop citizens who intend to move illegally, the Border Police services, in cooperation with the Kukes Border Police, apprehended at the entrance to Albania and arrested, with the aim of extradition to Turkey, the Turkish citizen Tahsin Yazici, 22 years old, resident in Turkey," the Police announced.
The verifications showed that the 22-year-old had been declared internationally wanted by Interpol Ankara, after the Gaziosmanpasa Court of First Instance, Turkey, sentenced him to 4 years and 2 months in prison for committing the criminal offense of "Illegal Possession of Firearms".
Interpol Tirana, in cooperation with counterparts in Turkey, is continuing the procedures for the extradition of the 22-year-old. (A2 Televizion)
