Tirana Incinerator, Special Court sentences Alqi Bllako to 4 years in prison

The Special Court decided this Tuesday to sentence former SP MP Alqi Bllako to 4 years in prison.

Due to the shortened trial, the former socialist legislator will ultimately have to serve 2 years and 8 months in prison.

In addition to the prison sentence, the court also imposed an additional sentence on Bllako, with the removal of the right to exercise public functions for 5 years.

Bllako was accused of two corruption episodes related to the Tirana incinerator case. This concerns a payment of 120 thousand euros from Klodian Zoto's company for the brewery of the former SP MP's father and the employment of businessman Klodian Zoto as an external advisor to Vladimir Bezhani, who has Bllako's influence.

We recall that the Special Prosecution Office requested a sentence of 5 years in prison and 5 years of exclusion from exercising public functions for Alqi Bllako. (A2 Televizion)
