A 44-year-old man in Shkodra has been arrested as part of the operation codenamed "Square", to crack down on cases of illegal possession of weapons.

Police say he was armed with a pistol in the city and was arrested in flagrante delicto.

"As a result of the operation codenamed "Square", citizen IM, 44 years old, resident of Laknas, was arrested in flagrante delicto for the criminal offense of "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition". During the operation, in "Isa Boletini" Square, the Police services located the vehicle in which citizen IM, suspected of illegal possession of weapons, was circulating. During the physical search, a pistol firearm with a 14-round magazine was found on him, which was seized as material evidence", the police announced.
