The mystery of Sonila's murder in Italy, the Turin Prosecutor's

The Italian media have returned to the case of the Albanian girl, Sonila, who on March 21, 2021, was found hanging in the apartment, where she lived together with her partner and her little son, only 2 years old. The incident took place in a small apartment in Turin.

Initially, the case was classified as suicide, but then the prosecution began to investigate the case more widely as there was suspicion, because according to them, the girl was forced by her partner to become a prostitute.

In a recent police operation, 3 people were put in handcuffs, while two others were ordered to leave Italy. They are accused of various crimes, from robbery to prostitution. For this case, 16 people are under investigation, including the partner of the 21-year-old deceased, writes A2.

According to an article in the Italian newspaper "La Stampa", it was her partner who found the dead body. Meanwhile, in the first testimony, he told the investigators that his wife committed suicide while he was in the bar. However, everything changed a month later, when he changed his version of events to say that Sonila had been killed, as he said, perhaps someone suspected that she might be a police spy. He said that 17,000 euros were also missing from the house, while the girl's cell phone was never found. According to the investigators, Sonila's husband is not reliable, but at the same time there is not enough evidence to prove that he was the one who forced her to commit suicide, even if he remains under investigation for that crime and for exploitation of prostitution.

The police operation "Mariposa" led to the destruction of the network and started in May 2022 from a robbery against an Albanian prostitute. Two brothers and a prostitute had robbed and beaten another woman who, in their eyes, was guilty of working in their area. Thus, investigations revealed a criminal system involving young women forced into prostitution in the city's outlying areas such as Barriera Nizza and Madonna di Campagna. (A2 Televizion)
