The Divjaka Police Commissariat arrested a 41-year-old man in flagrante delicto, who started a fire near the village reservoir where he lived, to clear a plot of land of weeds. As a result of the spread of the flames, 70 olive trees owned by a citizen were burned.
"41-year-old DT is suspected of having started a fire near the reservoir of the village where he lived, to clear a land area of weeds. The procedural materials were referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Fier, for further action ," the police announced.
The Fier Local Police Directorate appeals to all citizens not to light fires under any circumstances, as they will face the law.
