From music bans to drone control, police publish measures for the tourist season

The State Police has begun implementing a detailed plan of measures to guarantee order and security during the summer season, which will last until September 15, 2025.

A special focus of this plan is the coastal, lake and river areas, where police forces will be concentrated with increased services. Unlike last year, the 12-hour service will be applied only in these areas, while additional forces will be sent to support local structures, writes A2 CNN.

"To guarantee order and security during the 2025 summer season, the State Police has drafted and is implementing a detailed plan of measures, which aims to:

Safety in coastal, lake and river areas;

Facilitating traffic at border crossing points;

Prevention of road accidents and criminal activities;

Enforcing music curfews;

Protection of the environment and tourist areas.

Unlike last year, this year the 12-hour service will only be applied in coastal areas. Additional services will be sent to assist local police, which will be compensated according to the relevant legislation.

In line with the plan, the following have been made available:

Dozens of vehicles and motorbikes to increase readiness and rapid response;

Police officers on bicycles patrolling beaches, to strengthen community policing and provide assistance to holidaymakers;

Maritime Police Unit for the control and punishment of dangerous navigation within prohibited areas;

Drones that will be used by police services to control the security perimeter on beaches, as well as to identify and punish traffic violations.

The Border Police has taken measures to increase counters and human resources at the BCP, in order to manage the tourist flow.

There will be increased control at the green border and the blue border, to prevent border crime and illegal crossings.

The Traffic Police, with intelligent devices, drones and breathalyzers, will be present 24/7 on all national road axes and in residential centers.

At the same time, patrols have been increased in tourist areas to prevent road accidents and guarantee the free movement of vehicles.

From June 16 to September 15, 2025, the circulation of heavy goods vehicles will be restricted on weekends and official holidays.

To best implement and fulfill the measures set out in the plan of measures, local Police structures are collaborating with:

tourist agencies for tourist destinations, for equipping vessels with the relevant documentation and rigorously implementing navigation rules and safety measures;

village heads and local government;

beach watchers, civil and health emergencies, as well as fire services.

Meanwhile, the Police services are continuing the "Free Beach" operation to liberate illegally occupied coastal areas.

Also, controls will be exercised to enforce the music schedule and punish noise level violators. Police officers are now equipped with noise measurement devices.

Meanwhile, in addition to the plan of measures, the Director General of the State Police has ordered the establishment of field service monitoring groups for the rigorous implementation of the Code of Ethics by every police officer, in communication and in action.

The State Police remains committed to guaranteeing public order and security, and invites citizens to cooperate and report any illegality on the toll-free number 112. (A2 Televizion)
