The Tirana Court has approved the request of the Italian authorities to initiate extradition proceedings for Genti Nderjaku ( also known as Ekil Nderjaku ) and Ervis Deti, arrested during Operation "Ura", which aimed to crack down on a criminal drug trafficking organization.

Following the request of prosecutor Endrit Bimi, the court ordered the two arrested to be remanded in custody until the extradition documentation is received from the Italian authorities.

Furthermore, the Tirana Court declared incompetence and transferred the case to the Durrës Court, which will deal with the decision-making on their extradition, as the two arrested are residents of this city.

Referring to the interest shown by several journalists, the following official information is communicated:

The Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana, Criminal Chamber, today on 22.05.2025, after examining in a closed court session, in the presence of the litigants, the request submitted by the Prosecutor's Office to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana", for citizens: GN alias E. N. and ED , the request with the subject: "On the approval of temporary arrest for extradition purposes and the assignment of the personal security measure "prison arrest".

The court, after administering the written evidence, reviewed it in its entirety, and heard the final conclusions.

FOR THESE REASONS;

The court, based on articles 493 et ​​seq. of the Code of Criminal Procedure,

DECIDED:

1. Validation as lawful of the arrest for extradition purposes of citizens GN (alias EN), son of . and ., born on ., and ED, son of B. and N., born on . carried out by the judicial police on the basis of the “Report on international arrest 21.05.2025 at 10:00”.

2. The imposition of the security measure "Arrest in prison", provided for by Article 238 of the Criminal Procedure Code against the wanted persons GN (alias EN) and ED

3. Declaring the territorial incompetence of the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Tirana and sending the acts of competence to the Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction of Durrës.

4. This decision shall be immediately notified to the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Albania.

5. The prosecutor and the judicial police are ordered to implement this decision.

6. An appeal against this decision may be filed within 5 days at the Court of Appeal of General Jurisdiction in Tirana.
