Vlora Police have provided details regarding the accident with two victims and two injured on the Borsh-Himara road.
According to preliminary information, a van transporting fish, in which the spouses Kastriot and Donika Mehmeti, aged 62 and 54 respectively, were traveling, was hit by a Mercedes-type vehicle.
The collision was strong, and after the accident, the vehicle moved towards the sidewalk, endangering passers-by. The couple, although wearing seat belts, could not survive the strong impact. They were transported to the morgue of the Saranda hospital, writes A2 CNN.
According to witnesses at the scene, it is suspected that the cause of the accident was the excessive speed of the Benz, which directly hit the van.
The injured were urgently transported to the Saranda hospital, while the driver of the Mercedes Myfit Qejvanaj also suffered head fractures and hemorrhage and was transported to the hospital, while the passenger Petrit Kapllanaj is under the care of doctors, reports A2 CNN.
His health condition is reported to be stabilized, while police at the scene have launched investigations to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
The serious accident occurred on Wednesday on the road leading to Borsh beach at around 2:20 p.m., along the road connecting the village to the coast, a segment frequented by both residents and tourists. (A2 Televizion)
