A 54-year-old man has been criminally prosecuted by the Police after he attempted to take 48,400 euros out of Albania through the Kakavija border crossing point without declaring it.
Through a statement, the Police announced that the amount of euros was seized as material evidence.
The Police also announced that the 54-year-old is a resident of the village of Lazarat in Gjirokastra, writes A2 CNN.
Meanwhile, the procedural materials were passed on to the Gjirokastra Prosecutor's Office for further action.

In continuation of the work of the Border Police services, with the aim of preventing and combating crimes at the border, at the exit from Albania, a search was carried out in the bag of citizen Sh. B., where 48,400 euros were found, which this citizen had not declared in accordance with the law.
Following the procedural actions in the case, the Crime Investigation specialists of the DVKM Gjirokastër referred the materials to the Prosecutor's Office, where the proceedings were initiated in a free state, for the criminal offense "Failure to declare money and valuables at the border", for the citizen Sh. B., 54 years old, resident of the village of Lazarat, Gjirokastër. Also, the amount of euros was seized as material evidence.
The procedural materials were transferred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Gjirokastra, for further action. (A2 Televizion)
