The 39-year-old man who attempted to kill a 40-year-old man in Korça in February of this year has been arrested in Greece. He is Denis Mecolli, who was wanted after the Korça court ordered him to be arrested and imprisoned for attempted murder.
"As a result of the cooperation of the State Police structures with their counterparts in Greece, within the framework of the coded operation "The Wanted", for the provision and exchange of information on the location of citizens on international wanted lists, the localization in Greece, capture and arrest for the purpose of extradition to Albania, of the citizen: Deni Mecolli alias Denis Mecolli, 39 years old, was made possible.
This citizen was declared internationally wanted after the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Korça, with the decision dated 09.02.2025, assigned him the security measure "Arrest in prison", for the criminal offense of "Intentional Murder", remaining in the attempt", the police announced.
On February 4 of this year, Mecolli attempted to stab a 40-year-old man with the initials E. Sh.
