The Special Court has sentenced the former mayor of Himara, Jorgo Goro, to 2 years in prison.
The former official was charged with "abuse of office" in connection with the alienation of a plot of land on the coast. Due to the summary trial, he will serve 1 year and 4 months in prison.
Goro is also burdened by the decision to revoke the right to hold public office for 5 years.
Also, a sentence of 1 year and 6 months in prison was given to Vasillaq Strakosha, a sentence that was reduced to 1 year of imprisonment.
Strakosha has also been stripped of the right to hold public office for 5 years. (A2 Televizion)
