The Albanian police have hit two criminal groups that trafficked narcotics from the USA and from Thailand to Albania through the mail, arresting 3 people and announcing the search for 3 others. The police seized 4 kilograms of cannabis sativa with a high percentage of TCH, which were suspected to be sold in Tirana and Elbasan, as well as a quantity of cocaine that was found in the apartment of one of these citizens.
"As a result of the coded operation "Destination 1", a criminal group that trafficked cannabis sativa narcotics from the United States of America to Albania, through the postal service, was hit. For this criminal activity, the citizen EH, 34 years old, a resident of Elbasan, was arrested in the act, and the citizen ED, 24 years old, was declared wanted. As material evidence, 2.3 kg of cannabis sativa with a high percentage of TCH, intended to be sold in Elbasan, with a value of 45,000 euros, 170 grams of the suspected narcotic substance cocaine that was found in the apartment of the citizen ED, the amount money, cell phones and vehicles used for this criminal activity".
While in the coded operation "Destination 2", another criminal group was hit that trafficked cannabis sativa narcotics from Thailand to Albania, through the postal service.
"For this criminal activity, citizens were arrested red-handed: BL, 19 years old and a 17-year-old citizen, both residents of Tirana, and citizens BL, 18 years old and EL, 18 years old were declared wanted. As material evidence, 1.7 kg of cannabis sativa with a high percentage of TCH, intended to be sold in Tirana, with a value of 23,000 euros, sums of money, mobile phones and vehicles used for this criminal activity were seized.
Police operations were carried out by the Narcotics Investigation Section of DVP Tirana, in coordination with the Directorate for Narcotics Investigation in the DPSH, the Directorate of Customs Investigation, the Transit Center Branch of the Albanian Post and the Elbasan Local Police Directorate, in cooperation with the Prosecution at the Court of the First Degree of the General Jurisdiction of Tirana
Meanwhile, the investigations continue for the complete documentation of these 2 cases and the identification of the other citizens involved. The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. (A2 Televizion)
