One of the persons arrested in Kosovo in the joint operation for arms trafficking is from Tirana, a resident of Kombinat, identified as Valter Osmani. The police searched his apartment during the operation and found some of the seized weapons, which are suspected to be exchanged for cocaine in the following days, which is suspected to be the main base in the capital, writes A2 CNN.
He often went to Kosovo to get and find weapons, which he then brought to Tirana with other associates by car and bus. He is expected to be extradited to Tirana in the future as all the evidence against him has been found here.
The exchange of weapons for cocaine was based on type, from 25 to 30 grams for handguns and more for larger weapons. The latter were mainly sports and it is suspected that they were modified in Kosovo, but the authorities there have not yet found the place or the base where the process was carried out. Entering Kosovo, it is suspected that they were smuggled across the border from Turkey, and then work began on their modification into firearms. (A2 Televizion)
