Tragic in Elbasan, the elderly man asphyxiates and dies while burning herbs

A tragic event occurred this morning near the Zaranika area in Elbasan, where an elderly person, around 76 years old, was found without signs of life.

According to preliminary police sources, the victim has not yet been identified, and it is suspected that he died accidentally. Initial investigations indicate that the elderly man was burning grass and thorns to clear a plot of land when he is suspected of asphyxiating from the smoke and then being engulfed in flames in the clothes he was wearing.

The area around the body was found burned, but there were no signs of violence on the victim's body.

Police are at the scene and are continuing to work to fully clarify the circumstances of the incident, as well as to identify the deceased. (A2 Televizion)
