Durrës police have arrested the jet ski provider on the beach, after an English tourist lost his life the day before.
According to information provided to A2 CNN, he was operating a motorboat without full documentation and did not provide safety clothing to watercraft users.
According to police, the tourists, who had come for a holiday in Albania, took jet skis and performed speed maneuvers in the sea, not far from the coast. During the maneuvers, two of them fell from the jet skis, while the scene was observed by holidaymakers on the shore, who notified the police.
A 34-year-old English citizen lost his life in this incident, while a 31-year-old woman fortunately survived.
Initial suspicions of death from hypothermia have been ruled out, as the tourists only spent a few minutes in the water. However, a forensic examination is still awaited to determine the true cause of death, while the possibility that he suffered a cardiac arrest due to exhaustion during the rescue attempt from drowning is not ruled out.
