"No, no, I didn't kill him."
Ilirjan Selmani, who was given this statement in the first moments of his detention as the main suspect in the murder of 52-year-old Kozeta Teço, has confusingly maintained it even during the hours of questioning by the investigation team.
31-year-old Selmani admitted that he had an intimate relationship with the victim for at least 3 years and that the 20-year age difference was not a problem. He is reported to have stated that love and drinking kept them connected, as they often drank and got drunk, writes A2.
When asked about her final moments, Selmani said that she often hit him, but he put up with it until at one point he couldn't stand it anymore. However, this did not mean that he killed her.
Investigators asked why he had thrown the towels and clothes with blood in the urban waste bins, and Selmani is said to have said that he had done this because Kozeta was obsessed with cleanliness and that he thought she had slaughtered a chicken.
In the logic of the testimony, investigators are expected to request a psychiatric expertise, since contrary to what is stated, the actions taken by him to lose track, throwing bloody clothes in the trash cans and attempting to burn the apartment to stage an accidental event, show that he acted with cold logic.
Meanwhile, the 31-year-old's mother has also stated off-camera that her son was not violent and that the victim with whom her son lived had other relationships. However, in the face of these denials, it seems that the investigation team has secured the necessary evidence that proves not only the authorship of the murder of Kozeta Teço, but also the dynamics of the event reconstructed based on the material evidence and film footage provided.
