The Korça Court has ordered the security measure of arrest in absentia for Kejsi Spahillari as a suspect in the murder of young Antonio Karafili 7 years ago in Voskopoja, who was found hanging from a tree near this village.
Although the event was recorded and investigated as a suicide, after 18-year-old Antonio Karafili was found hanging from a tree with a sheet on the outskirts of the village of Voskopoja, the prosecution continued the investigation by collecting evidence and evaluating clues, which implicated Antonio's girlfriend, Kejsi Spahillari, and another young man, Rexhep Vathi, in the incident.
According to the prosecution, Biological evidence shows that Rexhep Vathi and Kejsi Spahillari strangled Antonio Karafili with a sheet and then hung him from a tree, staging the young man's suicide. The motive for the crime is suspected to be the parallel relationship that Kejsi Spahillari had with the victim and Rexhep Vathi. After the crime, Spahillari emigrated to Canada, while in August 2024, Rexhep Vathi committed suicide.
The Korça Prosecutor's Office has issued an arrest warrant for Spahillari, while the Korça court has set the security measure of imprisonment in absentia for the charge of intentional murder in collaboration.
After this, it is expected that the Korça Prosecution Office will proceed with an international arrest warrant for Kejsi Spahillari, who has been living in Canada for several years where she has started a family. (A2 Televizion)
