A 23-year-old from France was able to fraudulently obtain the data of more than 500 Albanian citizens and through them empty their bank accounts.
Adem Said was kept under surveillance for more than 2 weeks, and the moment he arrived in Albania and went near the ATM of a second-tier bank, he was arrested red-handed while attempting to withdraw money.
The young man sent citizens a fake link to fill in their bank details, claiming that their account had been deactivated for security reasons. He disguised himself as a branch of a second-tier bank in order to take money from their account.
The link was opened in France and then came to Tirana, with the aim of withdrawing money from bank accounts that he had obtained through fraud.
The 23-year-old is accused of two criminal offenses, "Computer Fraud" and "Interference with Computer Data."
This is not the first time that various citizens have fallen prey to fraud, as previously, other citizens, in addition to interference in their bank accounts, have also reported cases where their data on social networks has been hacked. (A2 Televizion)
