The macabre murder of a 69-year-old female notary in February last year on the Greek island of Zakynthos has been solved.
According to foreign media, the 69-year-old was trapped by three Albanians (the father, his son and a friend of theirs), who were arrested after an investigation by the Homicide Department.
The "key" to solving the crime was finding the location of the man who lived in Nemea, as when he was brought in for questioning and after being presented with the evidence they had collected, he allegedly described in detail everything that happened that night.
According to police sources, the man from Nemea described going to Zakynthos the day before the murder, after having agreed with the man who lived on the island and knowing that the unfortunate notary had money in her possession, to carry out the robbery.
According to the same sources, the two men stayed in one of the rented apartments and the next day they put the plan into action, writes A2 CNN.
"We put on hoods, masks, gloves and set up a barricade for him," the man from Nemea reportedly told police.
Describing what happened, the man from Nemea said: "We were waiting for her to return and we rushed to get her keys and enter the house. I tried to open the door and at that moment I saw that she had fallen to the ground and was bleeding. I said 'let's go' and we left."
After the bloody and deadly fight, the two men allegedly fled the scene on foot, walking for about an hour before calling the former's son to pick them up. In the meantime, they had burned their clothes and thrown away the knife.
According to the man from Nemea, "for the next two months we had no contact with each other, with only a few phone calls to avoid connecting with each other."
According to information, the two men, both of Albanian origin, were working together in construction when they decided to carry out the robbery, targeting the 69-year-old victim. The father lived with his son in Zakynthos, while the other man lived in Nemea.
Police sources report that the father and uncle went to the 69-year-old's house with their faces covered, while the son acted as a guard, writes A2 CNN.
The one who stabbed the unfortunate woman in the thigh, causing her to bleed uncontrollably, is suspected to be the father, who, however, does not seem to confess, but says that his other husband or son did it.
We recall that the unfortunate woman was found by her son this morning, lying unconscious on the steps of her house, next to her car.
The coroner who went to the scene concluded that her death was caused by a criminal act, as the woman suffered a knife wound and cuts to the inner part of her left thigh, above the knee, which caused profuse bleeding, resulting in her death within minutes. (A2 Televizion)
