A group of representatives from the Dukagjini area are demanding that the bust of Lekë Dukagjini be placed in the city center of Shkodra, describing him as one of the most prominent figures of the Albanian nation.
Gjergj Temeli, president of the "Albanian Community" association, called on the Shkodra municipality to act as soon as possible with the installation of the bust, as Lekë Dukagjini is an internationally recognized figure.
Other members of the association consider the placement of the bust in the city center a belated step.
The request to the Municipality of Shkodra to place the bust of Lekë Dukagjini in this city has been made for three years. Earlier in its reaction, the Municipality clarified that until now it was impossible to place the busts due to the lack of a regulation.
Meanwhile, at the last meeting of the Shkodra municipal council held on March 3 of this year, the establishment of an artistic-cultural commission was approved, as well as the regulation for cultural and artistic projects, paving the way, among other things, for the placement of busts in the territory or other similar decisions.
