The municipality of Ulcinj in Montenegro, an Albanian-speaking city for years, with its Albanian-language bookstore, cinemas and festivals that echo Albanian, is opening an international call for sculptors. They are looking for the most creative ideas for the realization of a statue of our national hero, Gjergji Kastrioti Skanderbeg.
The municipal leaders have already determined the location where the statue will be placed. Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg will have to stand proudly on the boulevard that also bears the name of our national hero.
This spring, the winning artistic project is expected to be selected and will be evaluated and voted on by 5 jury members, who, although they will only choose one of them to realize, will also financially reward the other two best ideas, for artists who have time to become part of this artistic mission until April 29, which is the deadline for submitting creative ideas.
