This is Zija Vukaj, one of the most prominent teachers at the “Jordan Misja” high school in Shkodra, who has his last March 7 as a teacher, as he retires this year. This morning was special for him, as the director of the Local Education Office, Brisela Kadia, surprised him at his apartment, wishing him a happy holiday.
For almost two decades he has been dedicated to teaching at the "Jordan Misja" school, but counts more than 40 years in education, writes A2 CNN.
Returning to the beginnings of his work, teacher Vukaj tells how in 1984 he started working at a school in the Dukagjin area, staying isolated in the snow for months.
The arrival of democracy in the early 1990s found Vukaj at a young age, a moment when even the books of great authors were thrown out on the street due to the misunderstanding that everything had to do with the dictatorship. Another difficult moment was 1997, when teaching was conducted even under the threat of weapons.
Teacher Zija Vukaj, in his over 40 years of work, prepared dozens of generations in the subject of literature. In addition to being a teacher, he is also a writer, publicist, translator, renowned literary critic, and is also the chairman of the Writers' League in Shkodra. (A2 Televizion)
