I do not expect the elections to slow down the process of integration into the European Union. This was the answer given by EU Enlargement Commissioner Marta Kos when asked whether the elections will affect integration, whether there will be political rotation, while Prime Minister Rama has stated that this would delay the process. According to the European Commissioner, there is only one European future for Albania.
"I do not expect the elections to slow down the process of integration into the European Union because it will happen over a long period of time and it is a deep process. I am sure that the reforms will continue and the reforms are not being carried out because the EU wants them, but this is a transformational process for Albania. It is the citizens themselves who will decide what kind of government they will have. Europe is so embodied in Albania that I see only a European future for you."
