Ilir Alimehmeti said that he would be ready to re-candidate for the post of mayor of Tirana in case the current mayor, Erion Veliaj, would resign, after the latest developments from the side of justice.
"I appeared in the competition once. There will still be primaries, because we have it in the statute. First you have to improve, because apparently I wasn't good enough, and second you have to believe in yourself. Definitely that forum issue is. Otherwise, I wouldn't have been in the race two years ago," said Alimehmeti in "Off the Record" with Andrea Dangli on A2 CNN. "Let's not think of the Municipality of Tirana as a certain grouping, but it is a total that deals with services for the community of Tirana".
