The government has approved the decision to establish the Local Government Academy, a new structure that will aim at the continuous training of local administration at all levels.
The Academy will function as a joint institution between the government and the country's municipalities, with joint management through a committee representing the Ministry of Local Government and representatives of the municipalities themselves.
According to the decision, all municipal employees, from mayors to the simplest administrative staff, will be included in professional training aimed at increasing capacities, efficiency and quality of services to citizens, writes A2 CNN.
The funding of the Academy will be covered by the municipalities themselves, which will contribute financially to its operation, while the government will cover 50% of the costs for its first three years.
The funds will be used to develop special training programs, technical qualifications, public management and other skills related to the efficient administration of local government. (A2 Televizion)
