The clash over who America dislikes the most continued among Albanian political leaders. Edi Rama's words warning of a surprise from across the ocean were met with a reaction from Sali Berisha, who believes that the prime minister's political end will come from the McGonigal dossier.

"When I said, did you get any messages, I didn't mean the visa, I meant Charles McGonigal. He didn't say no, he didn't say no, which means he got a host," Berisha said.

Since January 20, when Donald Trump was sworn in to the White House, the US headquarters in Tirana has preferred to remain withdrawn and neutral towards developments in Albania, even when the focus of the political debate was the Special Prosecutor's Office, which until now had enjoyed exclusive American protection.

"Three days ago he was asking for the DP's votes to dissolve and eliminate him, now he is using it as a whip against his candidates."

In front of the cameras, he was also forced to defend his generosity towards allies who were granted 8 safe seats in the coalition for a Greater Albania, where he has brought 26 political parties under one roof.

"A very good coalition was formed. Indeed, the DP has given 8 seats on the closed, guaranteed lists, but our democrats and supporters should know that these 26 parties (which include the DP) in their entirety, sometimes represent even 1/3 of the Albanian electorate, despite the fact that taken separately they are modest parties in their votes, but taken together they have an electorate of hundreds of thousands of votes," said Berisha.

Berisha also spoke about the list of candidates for MPs, evaluating the process of the primaries in the DP as transparent and accusing his political opponent, Edi Rama, of a secret process. (A2 Televizion)
