Prime Minister Edi Rama, in the "Sy m'sy" column, reacted for the first time to the arrest of Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj by SPAK.
He said that this case has made him change his mind about his strategy of remaining silent in the face of judicial decisions, which he has followed for 5 years in a row.
Rama was careful not to use the term arrest, but said that Veliaj was removed from office without trial and justice has left an entire capital without a leader.
"Taking the mayor of Tirana from his job to lock him up in a cell without trial, leaving an entire capital without a head whose duty was left on the shoulders of three-quarters of the electorate, is a very big event that I could not spend 5 years without commenting, I have no comment. I will no longer keep my opinions to myself in all cases where justice will do its job," said Rama.
The Prime Minister also had a comment on the protests called by the "Albania Becomes" Movement of Nisma Thurje today and the Together Movement of Arlind Qorri tomorrow, where his resignation will be demanded.
"They were turned on by the smell of bloody meat and have put the bottles down here and will come and demand my resignation because the sea has turned sour here," said the prime minister. (A2 Televizion)
