Analyst Arjon Sulo has stated that on May 11, in addition to the general Parliamentary elections to be held in Albania, there are also expected to be elections for the Municipality of Tirana.
Sulo made the comments on the 'Debat' show with journalist Alba Alishani on A2 CNN, where he said that the May 11 elections in the Municipality of Tirana have been talked about for about a year.
He also added that Mayor Erion Veliaj predicted his arrest, having previously said that he would not be part of the May 11 elections.
According to the analyst, both Prime Minister Edi Rama and Erion Veliaj were aware of this situation and tried to minimize the damage from the SPAK 'strike'.
"Both Veliaj and Rama knew very well what was happening. This is called cost minimization. So managing the crisis with the least damage. Because they both knew it. They both knew very well what would happen, because the opposition would increase the pressure on the Municipality of Tirana. We are going to have elections on May 11. Veliaj says very clearly there 'I will not be in these elections'. He predicts his own fate, that is, May, June, so the whole summer.
