After the official end of the voting process, Sali Berisha accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of ordering gangs to influence the election results. In a statement to the media, the leader of the Democrat Party emphasized that there has been a significant increase in the electorate.
"Operational data from all over the country show that in the traditional areas of the center-right there is a significant increase in the electorate and the results are expected in line with this increase with real optimism. But I am here before you to declare that the sovereign has spoken. The vote is in the hands of the commissioners, with the greatest responsibility. In Durrës, the gangs of Poja and Troplini have flooded towards the CEAZs with the order from Edi Rama that they can influence the result. This is not only in Durrës, but they are more active, they have been denounced, both by the media and by the DP and in other areas Edi Rama has chosen a kind of pressure towards the CEAZs."
The leader of the DP appeals to the DP commissioners to only implement the law. According to Berisha, no vote can and should be counted under pressure.
"Now, my firm message to all our commissioners in the CEAZ, in the counting commissions, to implement the law, the law and only the law. No vote can and should not be counted under pressure. I guarantee all the gangs that the government of the Alliance for a Greater Albania will declare those terrorist groups and they will receive the maximum punishments as such. I understand that they are in their last lurch and believe that they can influence the will of the sovereign. Nothing can change. The people have spoken decisively."
Berisha emphasizes that gangs that have put pressure on voters will be declared terrorists and will receive maximum punishments, while also commenting on the exit polls.
"I guarantee all the gangs that the government of the Alliance for a Greater Albania will declare those gangs terrorist and will order the maximum punishments as such. They are in their last convulsions and believe that they can influence the will of the scoundrel. Nothing can change. The people have spoken decisively. Secondly, regarding an exit poll claimed by a willing liar, Baton Stanishiqi did nothing but read or convert Kuçi's memorandum into a poll.
