Beleri in prison, the minister of state in Greece visiting Albania, will meet him in his cell

The Minister of State in Greece, Stavros Papastavrou, has paid a visit to Albania. According to the information made public by the Greek media, Papastavrou will meet with the elected mayor of Heimaur, Fredi Beleri, who is in prison.

The meeting will take place at noon in the prisons of Durrës, where he has been for six months.

While he has been in detention since May 12, Beleri has gone to the Supreme Court for the third time, where he requests the removal of the security measure "arrest in prison". This security measure, as well as the up to now rejection of his requests for a special permit, have not created an opportunity for Alfred Beleri to swear in front of the Municipal Council and assume the office of mayor. Earlier, the Supreme Court rejected two requests of Beler to change the security measure.

Currently, Beleri is being tried in the Special Court for the charge of "corruption in the elections" and the process is in the stage of questioning the witnesses of the prosecution.
