Democratic Party leader Sali Berisha has denounced that psychological terror was exercised against the President of the Freedom Party, Ilir Meta, in his cell.
Berisha made the comments during a statement to the media, where he said that those who exerted pressure on him were thugs in police uniforms.
According to Berisha, this happened on the orders of Prime Minister Edi Rama and Minister Ulsi Manja, after an interview that Meta gave to the media, writes A2 CNN.
Excerpt from Berisha's speech:
In addition, I want to denounce here before you the attitudes of psychological terror towards the other political prisoner, the former president, former prime minister and former speaker of parliament, Ilir Meta, during these coming days.
On the orders of Edi Rama and Uluzi Manja, uniformed thugs in Fier prison have exercised psychological terror against Ilir Meta because he has given an interview to the media, exercising his right to speech.
This ugly act of punishment for free speech shows the horror that Edi Rama has for the political crimes he has committed.
Uniformed thugs, acting on the orders of Edi Rama and Uluzi Manja, have gone so far as to not allow them to meet with their families, apparently claiming that there are 4 of them and only 3 can enter, and other acts.
They took away his phone and his right to communicate because, according to them, he communicated with the Secretary General of his party.
These are extremely serious acts of a narco-state that do not occur even in the prisons of Belarus or Russia.
These things only happen in Maduro's Venezuela, so Edi Rama is a Ramaduro. (A2 Televizion)
