The education system in Albania, according to Sali Berisha, is in agony, so urgent intervention is needed to reform it. The opposition leader says that Edi Rama's years in power have marked black records for this sector.

Under these conditions, Berisha claims, we need deep reform starting from the use of technology.

"Only by placing this system in the orbit of technological transformation will we transform it rapidly. And this is a great encouragement for us. There is no other path and opportunity, except the digital transformation of our education system," said Berisha.

Berisha added that this is not enough, so he promised to double the education budget and teachers' salaries.

"We are determined to double the budget for education. We are determined to double teachers' salaries. We are determined, regardless of the price, to apply and implement the latest technologies," said the leader of the DP.

The Democratic Party's education program also foresees a reduction in student fees, but the university admission system will also undergo changes.

"University admissions will be different, it is no longer the average that leads, no, it will be removed. Of course, admissions will be transparent. Fees will be halved, at the very least," said Berisha.

The leader of the Democratic Party made these statements during a roundtable with education experts as he presented the government program for this sector if the force he leads comes to power after the May 11 elections. (A2 Televizion)
