The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, has presented a new package of measures to support farmers and agriculture, emphasizing the need for investment and increased financial support for this vital sector for the Albanian economy. During a meeting with residents of Baldushk, Berisha emphasized that direct subsidies will be offered to farmers, including support for seedlings and livestock.
"I guarantee you that we will cover 80% of the interest on the loans you will receive for greenhouses, farms, nurseries, farms, livestock and everything."
This measure will be provided through the Development Bank, which will be created to support investments in agriculture and alleviate the financial burden on Albanian farmers.
He promised that subsidy measures would be increased, bringing them closer to the levels of other countries such as Kosovo and Macedonia, which have much higher support for agriculture.

Berisha also stressed the need for a service for farmers, which will be provided free of charge through the employment of specialists. This service will provide them with advice and guidance to improve production and farm management.
"We will create a fund to protect you from natural disasters, to protect you from production stock, for various reasons that arise."
Another promise of Berisha concerns investments in agricultural infrastructure, especially for irrigation and soil protection, considering this a necessity for the development of Albanian agriculture. He emphasized that investments will be made in projects that will protect soils from erosion and increase irrigation opportunities in important areas such as Myzeqeja. (A2 Televizion)
