Edi Rama's message that after May 11, work should begin on changing the justice system, in the name of improving standards, was not forgotten by the socialists. At the second high-level roundtable organized by the special parliamentary committee on anti-corruption, it was clearly stated that after the parliamentary elections, a plan for interventions in the justice reform laws will be presented.
"The rule of law cannot be understood without justice and its institutions. We considered it more reasonable to hold the presentation of the analytical plan and especially the consultation process after the elections, hoping for a calmer political climate," said Xhafaj.
Also present at this event were officials from Brussels and Strasbourg, such as the Deputy Secretary of the Council of Europe or the Director for the Western Balkans at the European Commission. Their presence seems to have made the Prime Minister not feel abandoned by international partners in this initiative and it was a message for others who continue to reject this parliamentary commission.
"I want to thank all those who came to us, because no translator can translate this, who came to us on this confused day when they almost put us with our shoulders against the wall as a subversive group that was created to kill the child they themselves gave birth to. Now they understand that it is quite the opposite, and whoever does not believe us will have a hard time being present today, but they will come, there is nowhere to go," Rama said.
As if to provide guarantees for this process, he was careful to emphasize that it does not take place in government offices but in parliament.
"This space of interaction cannot be a space created by the government. It was proven by the time that the commission created a momentum of inclusive engagement far beyond the walls of the institutions," the prime minister emphasized.
According to Rama, this commission will bring the country even closer to the European Union, an expression that seems to have created inflation in the articulation of the head of government.
"Muslims pray to Allah 5 times, we pray to the EU more than 5 times a day."
The special anti-corruption commission, led by socialist Fatmir Xhafaj, has been rejected by the opposition, which does not participate in it, while the country's justice institutions have refused to send their representatives. (A2 Televizion)
