At the weekly conference with journalists, Sali Berisha, the leader of the Democratic Party, presented his party's plan for the price of electricity, accusing the government of Edi Rama of electoral price reduction and fraud which, according to him, are in violation of the law.
Berisha emphasized that the public energy company is obliged to reduce the price in accordance with the reduction of losses and the increase of efficiency. According to him, with infrastructure investments and better loss management, the price of energy can be reduced and sold cheaper to consumers.
The PD plan for the price of energy foresees three levels:
The initial price will be 7 lek per kilowatt/hour for the first 300 kilowatt/hours of consumption.
The second price will be 10 lek for the other 400 kilowatts/hours.
For luxury consumers, who use a lot of energy, Berisha proposes a third price of at least 1,000 lek per kilowatt/hour.
In this way, Berisha said that the price for businesses will remain at lower levels, around ALL 60 per kilowatt/hour. He also emphasized that Albania will continue to remain among the countries with the lowest electricity prices in Europe, attributing this achievement to the strategy of becoming a regional renewable energy superpower.
