The Political Leader of the Socialist Party for the Diaspora, Taulant Balla, touched on many essential issues related to the diaspora voting procedure in the May 11 elections, but also the offer of the Socialist Party as the only reliable offer in the Albanian political spectrum today.
In a question-and-answer conversation on the social network Facebook, Balla shared details related to technicalities, starting with registration that starts this Saturday and ends on March 4, and until the deadline for the arrival of the vote by mail, which it is 19:00 on May 11, writes A2.
The Political Director of the SP for the Diaspora clarified technical details and ambiguities that voters from the diaspora showed in their questions, which he answered in real time.
Asked about the possible representation of the diaspora, Balla affirmed that in the process the Deputy We Want has a significant number coming from the diaspora, successful Albanians from every corner of the globe. "There are over 100 candidates who have expressed their desire to be part of this process," said Balla in this conversation.
Will the Albanian state pay for the return postage of the ballot?
"We have made a proposal to express the government's willingness to take over the costs of mailing the vote. The Electoral Code has provided that the CEC has an obligation to send from Albania to your address wherever you live. There have been suggestions from compatriots that since it is time the necessary fund to cover the return mail should be made possible. And the prime minister has expressed his willingness to pay the government from its own fund, but the Parliament should make the relevant changes in the electoral code. We hope that the opposition will support it" was Balla's answer to the question of the resident abroad.
Balla explained in detail the registration process, technical issues that are shown with examples on the CEC website or in its mobile application, where the procedure can be carried out on the Electronic Registration Platform. "If you have created your account and registered with an expired identification document, you have until March 4th to upload the renewed document because with expired documents you cannot vote on May 11th."
