Debate on the budget, Vangjeli warns of serious scenes in the parliament

Analyst Lorenc Vangjeli has considered the debate on the 2024 budget a triple lost chance for the government, the opposition and the Albanians. In the Debate studio on A2 CNN, he said that the parties should make a trick to start the battle on how the money of the Albanians will be spent.

"A triple lost chance, the chance of the majority that could find opportunities for improvement, for the opposition that its ideas are implemented in the financial constitution of the year, and a lost chance for Albanians to see the debate, to have transparency about how it will be his money is spent in one year by a government that has leased power for 4 years. In this climate of war and conflict that Albanian politics has, it would be wise for the parties to make a truce at least in November of the budget to start the important battle of how the Albanians' money will be spent. That would be above everything."

In these conditions, as the opposition has also stated, Vangjeli warns of more serious scenes on Monday and Tuesday when the budget will be discussed in the parliament. According to him, the Assembly hall could be the last stop of the hunger strike of the opposition MPs.

"Political egoism is dominant here, and I'm afraid I'm going to give you bad news that next week, Monday and Tuesday, which will be the days of the debate, the parliament hall can turn into even worse scenes than what we saw and can be the last leg of the hunger strike. They have failed to do what they should and they have failed to do their duty. The government with silence and the opposition with actions will not have each other but elsewhere".

For Vangjeli, political selfishness does not allow him to have a battle for the budget, which according to him is a necessity.

"Imagine in an ordinary Albanian family, it is claimed that everything is done with the shared money, there is a fight and it is not allowed to buy bread. To tell someone's nephew, niece, grandfather or grandmother that you will not eat bread tomorrow because I have a problem inside. There should have been a truce on everything else and a battle over the budget. I would be very happy if each of us had the opportunity to see Mrs. Denaj debate with her colleague in the opposition. I would like the opposition to have the upper hand, not a show, but a need and necessity that they should have done".
