The former OSCE ambassador to Kosovo during the war with Serbia, William Walker, who documented the Recak massacre, has been decorated by the Municipality of Kavaja and the Association of the Persecuted Anti-Communists.

Walker, after speaking about his role during the Kosovo war, called for cooperation between Tirana and Pristina to be deepened, as he said, although they are two separate states, they share the same national spirit.

"I am always confused because I am not a scholar of the region, but I know that Albania and Kosovo are the same country, but today they are the reality of two separate states. I am very happy that now Albania and Kosovo are going through a period of cooperation," said William Walker - former OSCE ambassador to Kosovo.

Also present at the ceremony was the leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha. The leader of the Democrats, while praising the figure of the former ambassador, affirmed that thanks to his courage, Kosovo turned the page of history and showed the world the massacres that Serbia was committing.

"Without your stance, without your courage, without your honesty, perhaps the history of Kosovo would not be what it is today. Therefore, we have boundless gratitude towards you," said Berisha.

There was also appreciation for two journalists, Ilir Ikonomi and Beqir Sina, who have written extensively about Kosovo in their careers. (A2 Televizion)
