Prime Minister Edi Rama expressed his belief that, with the vote of the diaspora, the Socialists will manage to receive nearly 1 million votes in the May 11 elections, writes A2 CNN.
"We are here, the embodiment of the will of nearly 800,000 Albanians, and with the vote of the diaspora we can reach nearly 1 million. It is impossible not to think and not try to make this strength available to everyone," said Rama.
He made the statement during a meeting with the competing team for the Tirana District, where Rama asked Albanians for their votes on May 11, with the aim of sending the country towards the EU, this time setting a deadline for fulfilling this objective.
"We need 1 and a half years, no more, to put everything in order and to conclude everything. And then, only the parliaments of other countries will be historical events in their own right, where each parliament will vote for Albania to be a member of the EU and will stand up to applaud it," Rama said.
At the end of his speech to the candidates for deputies of the Tirana District, Rama said that the Socialist Party has given everyone the opportunity to join it, even exchanging jokes with those who were once his political opponents, while now competing on the Socialist lists.
"We have a ballist here, Halit Valterin, who, once he met us, has been inseparable from us. Go and tell your people: come here, because you are stuck in the swamp! There is no better garlic in a political house than having a ballist on the facade," said the prime minister. (A2 Televizion)
