Although they left the SP headquarters separately, with one exiting through the main door and the other through the back door, Prime Minister Edi Rama and the Mayor of Tirana appeared together at Student City.

The closeness didn't just seem physical. The tone in which they referred to each other was clearly friendly.

"It just gave me an idea that these buildings could be turned into Airbnb during the summer," said Veliaj.

"Just as Erioni said, there will also be an Olympic swimming pool here," said Rama.

The complicated political situation in the Socialist Party of Tirana 3 months before the elections seems to have prompted the Prime Minister to, at least in public, calm the relationship with his close associate, as he did not spare words in support of Erion Veliaj's work as head of the Municipality of Tirana.

"The Municipality of Tirana is the locomotive in all directions, the government's support and mine personally for Tirana remain a priority," said Rama.

After taking the Tirana Municipality under his protection, Edi Rama, using Student City as a symbolic place where democracy began, attacked Sali Berisha, who, according to him, delayed the integration of Albania.

"We are just a few steps away from the evil spirit, the devil who led him into a dead end," said Rama.

He made the comments during an event aimed at inaugurating two new buildings in the Student City premises, with support from the German government.  (A2 Televizion)
