Renato Kumrija, who came third in the Democratic Party primaries for the city of Elbasan and eighth at the regional level, has today denounced the removal of his name from the list of candidates for deputies. In a post on social networks, he accuses Secretary General Flamur Noka of having deleted his name from the list of candidates for deputies in the May 11 elections. According to him, this is a personal position of Noka, violating the DP statute. Kumrija raises questions about bargaining on the last night before submitting the names to the CEC.
Renato Kumrija's full reaction:
Dear members of the Democratic Party Elbasan Region, friends, comrades and collaborators who have believed in me as a young person in politics and have given me unconditional, unselfish support to be a candidate for deputy of the Democratic Party.
You are hereby informed that I have been called by the General Secretary of the DP, Flamur Noka, who has informed me that I will not be on the list as a candidate for deputy. The reason is simple, since they have to give way to someone else, while they have left candidates on the list with more or less support from the Primaries. Even though I strongly opposed his personal stance, violating the DP statute and every human code, he (Flamur) deleted my name.
I want to thank each and every one of you who made it possible for me to be one of the most voted young people in the city of Elbasan (3rd in the ranking, at the District level I was 8th and emerged as one of the most potential young candidates to participate in the Parliamentary elections as a representative of the Democratic Party.
Unfortunately, I realized that the work, dedication and interest in giving voice to the needs of ordinary citizens and representing them with dignity is not primary for policymakers. I was and am one like you, the son of a simple Albanian family, who believed that no one better than a man of the "people" knew the needs of our class.
Therefore, with regret; friends and well-wishers who welcome with open arms the figure and the man that I represent, I announce to you that I will not be part of the "open list", because it is more closed than the name itself from Flamur Noka. My friends, you understand very well why this happened!
Are there any bargains or negotiations during the last night of the deadline to register with the CEC? Only Flamur Noka knows this, and time, which I am convinced will vindicate me and all of Elbasan, for which he has rejected Democracy for the free vote for a new spirit and a young man who had the most sincere support from the families of Elbasan.
It is unfortunate that figures such as Flamur Noka are frightened by the support that a young man has in politics and begin attacks so that they can freely carry out their tricks and do not claim Victory, but seek Defeat in the elections.
Therefore, in order not to contradict my principles for REAL DEMOCRACY, I ask you to support the Democratic Party and Prof. Dr. Sali Berisha, because I will always be part of it, whether he (Flamuri) is part of it or not.
Deep gratitude to you, as you made me your chosen one with the temple of democracy and my obligation is to be your voice everywhere and always, even if Flamur disagrees!

Meanwhile, contacted by A2CNN, the Secretary General of the Democratic Party, Flamur Noka, claimed that Renato Kumrije's departure is related to gender quotas, where the position has now been opened to a woman to fulfill all legal provisions. (A2 Televizion)
